Our story

McKinley joined Girl Scouts as a Brownie and has grown into a passionate leader with a deep love for animals and the outdoors. She earned her Bronze Award by creating a Weather Station Program at Camp Paumalu, inspiring Scouts to explore STEM and environmental awareness. For her Silver Award, she developed a Hammock Camp Program, offering a unique way for Scouts to connect with nature and foster team bonding. Aspiring to become a veterinarian, McKinley combines her love for animals with her commitment to making a positive impact, embodying the courage, confidence, and character of a faithful Girl Scout.

In 2023, her parents were involved in a wildlife collision when a deer struck the side of their truck. Thankfully, no one was injured, though the deer sadly lost its life. Her father’s quick thinking helped prevent further harm and ensured the animal was treated with dignity and compassion.
